How to install your surf traction pads?

cómo instalar el grip en la tabla de surf

Installing traction pads for your surfboard is not complicated; it only takes a few minutes and a bit of precision. You don't need to be an expert, but with this Flysurf guide, you'll achieve a perfect installation to improve grip and control in every surf session.

What do you need to install your grip?

  • Your surfboard (clean and free of wax or any residue).
  • Our hexagonal patches that you'll find in your Flysurf Tote bag.
  • The guide piece included in the hexagonal pad kit.

Below, we summarize the simple installation in 3 steps.

Steps to install the grip on your surfboard

Step 1: arrangement of the traction pads

Before peeling off the pieces, place them on the board to visualize the arrangement pattern. Taking a photo with your mobile phone will give you a visual reference when sticking them. Properly clean the surface of your board to remove any residue, dust, or oil. Make sure to rinse well and let it dry completely before proceeding.

Step 2: first pad

Begin assembling the mosaic with the first hexagon. Use the top cap of the center fin and the stringer as a reference to correctly position this first piece. Remember not to touch the adhesive side with your fingers to avoid reducing adhesion.

Step 3: stick the rest of the pads

Following the guide included in your pack of Flysurf hexagonal pads, continue placing the remaining hexagons along your board. This process is ideal for both softboards and fiberglass models. Carefully position each sticker, ensuring uniform coverage.

Partially peel off the adhesive liner and press firmly onto the board. Slowly remove the rest of the liner while applying even pressure over the entire surface, especially on the edges. Use a squeegee or roller to maximize adhesion.
