Its design combines the buoyancy volume of a large board with the reduced length of a more maneuverable board: a generous nose width, a squash or swallow tail, and a moderate rocker that gives it planing speed even in weak waves. It is the perfect board for summer days, inconsistent waves, or for surfers who want fun without technical complications.

Funboard vs. Evolutive: What's the Difference?

The main difference is in length and outline. The funboard is generally shorter (6'0 to 7'0 feet) and wider in the nose than the evolutive, which gives it more planing surface with less length. The rail is usually thinner in the tail, which improves turning. If you can already surf the wave face comfortably and want more turning without sacrificing paddling ease, the funboard is your model.
