Surf Grips: The Total Reference for Your Feet
A surf grip is much more than an accessory; it's the connection that allows you to confidently execute every turn. Unlike wax, a pad offers a constant tactile reference, telling you exactly where your back foot is positioned before performing a critical maneuver. In our collection of surf grips, we select only high-density materials that guarantee durability and adhesion that won't disappear with use.
Find the Ideal Surf Grip for Your Style
Not all surf grips feel the same underfoot. The choice depends on your board type and the sensitivity you seek:
- 1-piece vs. 3-piece Grips: 3-piece grips are the most versatile, as they allow you to separate the side parts to better cover the tail of our wider surfboards.
- Arch Bar and Kick Tail: If you're looking for extra arch support, choose a grip with an arch bar. The raised kick tail at the back is essential for leverage in powerful turns.
- Front Pads: For those looking to avoid wax entirely, front grips offer uniform traction and protect the deck from dents.
Professional Installation of Your Surf Grip
A poorly applied surf grip is a problem in the water. Follow these steps for an everlasting bond:
- Extreme Cleaning: The board must be free of any residue. If it's a used board, make sure to remove every trace of old surf wax.
- Placement: Before removing the adhesive, place the pieces on the board to mark the ideal position.
- Pressure and Curing: Once adhered, press firmly from the center outwards to the edges. Important: Allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before your first session.
Grip or Wax? The Surfer's Dilemma
Many surfers combine both worlds. It's common to use a technical surf grip on the back foot for a solid stop on the tail, while applying surf wax on the front area to maintain that organic feel and freedom of movement. Whatever your preference, in our surf shop, we have the technical gear you need to level up.
If you're setting up your new quiver, don't forget to visit our surf fins section. The combination of a good surf grip, the right Deflow wax and technical fins is what will transform your surfing.
Preguntas frecuentes
