Proper maintenance of your Flysurf is essential to extend the life of your board. But it is important to keep some aspects in mind for your Flysurf's maintenance. Our beginner surfboards are fast, light, and durable, but still require maintenance.

They are built for the toughest conditions, but they still require some minimal care to last for many years. In this simple guide, you'll find basic instructions to start using your new board, as well as some very useful maintenance tips.
Flysurf Maintenance – Some initial instructions.
1. When you purchase your new Flysurf product, you will receive a package containing a fin set with your board. The three fins in the set are identical, so they can be installed interchangeably. The important thing is that the two shorter screws in the set should only be installed in the rear fin. Installation is very easy: just gently insert the two fin tabs into the holes in the board's base until they stop, then insert and screw in the included plastic screws from the top surface. It is normal for the black plastic rim of the fin hole on the board to move inward when inserting the fin. The most important thing is that the screw is firm (but not overly tight) and that there is no gap between the fin base and the board.
2. On the front and back of the board, you'll notice a shiny area over the Flysurf logo. This is simply a clear paint we use to protect the logos. Any excess will wear off with water and use. It does not affect the functionality of your Flysurf in any way.
3. Before using your new board, you should apply a generous layer of wax to the top surface, from approximately 30 cm below the front logo to the tail. Preferably, choose a soft wax, for cold or warm water depending on the beach where you learn, and apply it in circular motions until the entire indicated surface is covered.
Maintenance and Repair of your Flysurf.
1. IMPORTANT: Your new Flysurf board is very resistant to UV rays and impacts in and out of the water thanks to its semi-rigid plastic material that covers both surfaces. At the same time, this material is very sensitive to high temperatures, so YOU SHOULD NEVER:
- Expose it directly to high temperatures, for example: leaving it inside a car in direct sunlight.
- Cover it with towels or covers.
- Store it in closed bags under the sun.
2. If any "wrinkle," "bubble," or "dent" appears on the surface of your board, it is a clear sign that your board was exposed to excessive heat sources. Do not try to repair it as you will only damage the surface further. Just continue using it normally, as generally this type of damage does not affect the functionality of your Flysurf in any way.
3. The "tail" of all surfboards is always a very delicate area, as it receives stress and pressure from the water, the leash rope, and is generally the part of the board most exposed to impacts. On "The Traveller" model, its fish tail is also an area you should take care of. Over time, you may see wear on it, and in some cases, the edge that makes contact with the board's leash rope will lose adhesion with the body. This situation is normal, as it allows stress to dissipate and prevents the material from suffering damage or breakage. You can easily repair it with our sealant for non-abrasive polymers, which allows you to repair any damage your Flysurf may suffer.
